I am an entrepreneur who is best known for founding Freeserve, the UK's first Billion-Pound internet company. My Eureka moment for Freeserve was when nobody in PC World could tell me how to get onto the internet. After much persuasion, Dixons agreed to launch Freeserve in September 1998. Freeserve was an instant success and became the largest internet service provider in the UK in just three months. For many people in the UK, it was their first experience of the internet, it was the first time they had an email, it changed everything. After three years of rapid growth, Freeserve was sold to France Telecom for £1.65 billion. You can read the fantastic Freeserve story: "Make Lots of Money by giving it away." I was proud and honoured when the Queen awarded me a 'British Empire Medal' BEM in her 2017 Birthday Honours list. I now work with a number of companies offering the following services.
